祈祷是一种小花招，
让人们以为能直抵
那些他们不可及之地，
并用言语把门敲。

至于上帝是否会听到
——这一点我们且存疑。
但这不关祈祷的事，
祈祷只安慰我和你。

Prayer is the little implement
Through which Men reach
Where Presence - is denied them
They fling their Speech

By means of it - in God's Ear -
If then He hear -
This sums the Apparatus
Comprised in Prayer -
